‘Stranger on the Shore’ how the Dutch literary landscape is rapidly changing in shape and color

Dutch literature is rapidly changing in shape and color. Newcomers from the Middle East together with a new generation of Dutch writers with all sorts of backgrounds enter the arena. They all have a common goal: to create and ensure high-minded works. How will these new voices redefine the Dutch identity? How will their stories from the outside world shape the literature of the future? How do these newcomers picture their place within Dutch literary scene? Together they will discuss their themes, dreams and schemes.

Mohamed Ouaamari
Mohamed Ouaamari (1991) is an author, a columnist and an editor at VRT, the Flemish broadcasting company. He wrote about his many-layered, lasagna-like identity in his recently published book Greetings from Flanders: is he Belgian, Flemish, Moroccan or a typical citizen of Antwerp, as he likes to see himself? In his writings his funny and smart way of looking at things is never failing him.
محمد أوعمري (1991) هو كاتب وكاتب عمود ومحرر في شركة البث الفلمنكية VRT. لقد كتب عن هويته متعددة الطبقات التي تشبه اللازانيا في كتابه المنشور مؤخرًا تحيات من فلاندرز: هل هو بلجيكي أم فلمنكي أم مغربي أم مواطن نموذجي في أنتويرب ، كما يحب أن يرى نفسه؟ في كتاباته ، طريقته المضحكة والذكية في النظر إلى الأشياء لا تخيبه أبدًا.

Lamia Makaddam
Lamia Makaddam (1971) is a poet and translator from Tunisia. From early aged on she formed a habit of crossing boundaries and embarking on new paths, both in real life and in her work. Her poetry is translated into Dutch, English, French and Kurdish and combines the strong sense of freedom which she found after moving to the Netherlands with the strong, physical ties of her Tunisian background.
لمياء مقدّام (1971) شاعرة ومترجمة من تونس. منذ سن مبكرة ، اكتسبت عادة عبور الحدود والشروع في مسارات جديدة ، سواء في الحياة الواقعية أو في عملها. يُترجم شعرها إلى الهولندية والإنجليزية والفرنسية والكردية ويجمع بين الإحساس القوي بالحرية الذي وجدته بعد انتقالها إلى هولندا مع الروابط المادية القوية لخلفيتها التونسية.

Ranwa Alamsi
Ranwa Alamsi is a Bahraini- Palestinian poet, novelist and cultural media professional. She published three books of poetry and fiction and many articles in Arab newspapers and electronic periodicals. Currently, she is studying Middle Eastern Studies at Leiden University.
رنوة العمصي شاعرة وروائية وإعلامية ثقافية بحرينية فلسطينية. نشرت ثلاثة كتب شعرية وروائية والعديد من المقالات في الصحف والدوريات الإلكترونية العربية. تدرس حاليًا دراسات الشرق الأوسط في جامعة ليدن.

Mounir Samuel (1989) is a Dutch-Egyptian political scientist, journalist, commentator and author of more than a dozen books of fiction, poetry and non-fiction. A writer of all forms and genres. Breaking down borders is central to both his work and his life.
منير صموئيل (1989) عالم سياسي هولندي-مصري وصحفي ومعلق ومؤلف لأكثر من عشرة كتب من الروايات والشعر والواقعية. كاتب على اختلاف أشكاله وأنواعه. يعد كسر الحدود أمرًا محوريًا في عمله وحياته.
